Asham to Asham Africa, a boutique hotel on the shore of Lake bishoftu. At Asham you will enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Bishoftu, the faboulous collection of African arts and artifacts, and a friendly staff ready to serve you with your favorite African and continental dishes.
The hotel is built on the cliffs of gorgeous Lake Bishoftu with direct access to the lake. It has twenty eight luxurious rooms and four family studios, a conference hall that can accommodate approximately 150 people, a gymnasium, a sauna and steam bath and a beauty parlor.
"Asham" means welcome in many of the languagues spoken by the various people living from Addis Ababa upto the border of Kenya. It is an expression of hospitality and friendship. We hope you will find this characterstics in the quality of service we provide at Asham Africa.
Celebrating Africa
We hope the hotel will serve as a meeting place to celebrate the beauty, diversity and resourcefulness of Africa. We hope Africans and Africa lovers will come not only to meet others like them but also to organize events that will inform and educate others about the continent. We dream about the time when African singers, artists and writers will come to Asham Africa to share their knowledge and talents.
Protecting the Environment
At Asham, we recycle waste into biogas, we use solar energy and, eventually, wind turbine to supply power to the hotel. When the project is complete, we hope to be fully power independent using all energy from renewable sources.
Engaging the Community
The hotel is built by the community. Currently almost all the staff is from the neighborhood. We will continue engaging the community to explore ways and means by which they will benefit from the business opportunities that will be generated from the hotel.
