Job Purpose: to provide managerial leadership to the Sewing Garment Technician team and to provide technical support to pre-production preparation, trial and bulk production to enable Sewing team to produce garments that meet Customer and Company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand the garment construction and the associated sewing operations
Conduct trial production on new styles using to ensure manufacturability of the new style
Provide training to Garment Technicians and Sewer Trainers to equip them with required skills to guide the sewers to sew with quality and efficiently
Resolve sewing technical problems on the sewing lines
Drive sewing standardization across Factory and ensure best practice across Factory
Conduct spot checks on the production lines to make sure garments are made in compliance with defined technical standards
Provide managerial leadership to the Garment Technician team
Understand and live by the Company’s core values
Take accountability for growing and continuously improving oneself
Job Requirement
Education: Vocational education
Experience: 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in supervisory positions, in a garment manufacturing environment
Language skills: Written and spoken English and Amharic a must, local dialects a plus
Functional Requirements:
Sewing skills
Understanding of hand motion and ergonomics
Understanding of basic garment quality requirements
Has the drive to meet or exceed a standard of excellence on an ongoing basis
Has the drive to lead, engage and enable teams and coach individual team members
Is excited by convincing and persuading others to do what is needed
Other Relevant Information:
Must be willing to travel to Asia to be trained for up to 3 - 6 months in the Company’s existing Factories
