JSI Research and Training Institute Inc. / Universal Immunization through Improving Family Health Services (UI-FHS) is designed and implemented in collaboration with the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), the goal of UI-FHS is to learn, document, and share evidence with the Ministry and other stakeholders about how universal immunization might be achieved through affordable and sustainable approaches to reach all women and children with potent lifesaving vaccines.
SUPERVISOR: Regional Immunization Advisor
UI-FHS Immunization Specialist will contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of approaches and model practices that lead to sustainable improvements in routine immunization coverage in the respective woredas. They are expected to work in the existing health system hand in hand with health staff of all levels, community leaders, and other immunization partners. The Immunization Specialist will report to Regional Immunization Advisor and collaborate with the learning specialist on data related issues. The Immunization Specialist is expected travel to the Woreda (s) assigned will be up to 80% of the time to conduct follow-up visits, facilitate trainings, and mentor the strengthening of supportive supervision systems and active use of data for decision making. The duty station of the IS could be Zonal towns and/or nearby towns in the woredas they support. Therefore, the immunization specialists has to be flexible to relocate. It is anticipated that an Immunization Specialist will need to support up to 3 woredas simultaneously at the height of RED-QI scale out.
