About the Head of Marketing position:
The Head of Marketing constitutes an executive management position that will be responsible for the market intelligence, creative development and strategic direction of the media brand and market positioning in Ethiopia.
The Head of Marketing will report to the Representative of the Commercial Representative Office in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment with the aim of providing insightful and valuable information on the Ethiopian market.
We require a start-up thinker with strong emotional intelligence, a baseline of hard skills (creative, technical, financial, analytical and management) and a desire to constantly tackle new areas of learning and growth. Only the determined, creative, driven, and high-energy individuals need apply.
The major tasks (including but not limited to):
Develop the company’s long-term creative strategy and brand positioning through rigorous well tested ongoing market research.
Assess organizational key performance metrics against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
Develop channel brand and identity - this encompasses everything from social media to sound, image spots & ID’s to website and promotional materials for use internally and externally.
As necessary, assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants.

A successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience on the Ethiopian market and 5 years in a mature market (preferably North-America or Europe) in Advertising, Marketing and Communication
Long and successful track records with completed projects involving strategic brand planning, social media marketing and analysis, large advertising campaigns, graphic design, television and digital production
Solid and well tested business and creative acumen – both hard and soft skills (e.g. top-tier consulting, finance, corporate etc. with leading Masters Degree in a relevant field or equivalent degree)
Proven experience leading creative teams including graphic, video production & sound
Deep understanding of global brands & their marketing strategies
Strong market research and analysis background
Fluent in English (both written and spoken), Fluent in Amharic (spoken at least)
Extensive experience in Adobe Suite and any other related software related to the media industry
