BACKGROUND
The Last Ten Kilometers Project - L10K 2020 is implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. in Ethiopia. With the grant it receives from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID and UNICEF, L10K works in 200 woredas in Amhara, Tigray, SNNP and Oromia regions to ensure optimum coverage of high impact reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) interventions and contribute towards reducing Ethiopia’s post Millennium Development Goal (MDG) - maternal, newborn and child mortality targets. Thus, the Project aims to improve key household and community practices and increase the coverage, quality, and equity of RMNCH Care.
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The Regional Manager will be the regional representative and provide overall direction in both technical and operational matters for all project activities conducted in the region and towards meeting the L10K goal. S/he is also expected to provide technical guidance to ensure the use of high impact, evidence based RMNCH interventions. As a regional manager s/he will work in partnership with regional offices, grantees and other key partner organizations. The Regional Manager is expected to integrate new knowledge into on-going program activities and disseminate new knowledge to project staff and partner organizations. The Regional Manager will work closely with the Technical Director and Field Technical and Operations Advisor to coordinate work plans and reports. The Regional Manager will report directly to the Project Director.
