Job Title: Grants Coordinator (1 Position)

Overall Responsibilities
· Takes the lead in the review of new funding opportunities by screening calls for proposals and organising grants start-up meetings, suggesting contributors for drafting and finalisation of the proposal or concept note.
· Supervise Grants Officer and other staff in the Grants team, including on the job training and performance evaluation.
· Assist Head of Programmes (HoP) in donor mapping and identifying new initiatives to undertake in line with the screening process of call for proposals, and advice HoP and CD on donor strategy
· Serves as a focal point for communicating donor rules, regulations, conditions and procedures to concerned staff and help facilitate trainings on such
· Coordinate proposal development and report write-up process by reminding relevant staff of deadlines, contribute to composition and/or review as agreed in the start-up meeting
· Reviews proposals/reports for compliance and consistency and consolidates them prior to submission
· Establish and maintain in-country filing system in line with NRC standards
Specific responsibilities
· Particular focus on Grants Support to Djibouti, Dolo Ado, Jigjiga, Shire, Assosa, Gambella and Addis Ababa offices
· Coordinate and contribute to maintaining an updated proposal development and reporting calendar for all areas.
· Act as HoP when required.
FORMAL EDUCATION
· Preferably Master’s degree or equivalent in social studies
Relevant Experience
· Solid experience in program development, management, fundraising, and design;
· Experience in humanitarian work, preferably with refugee/IDP-related emergencies
· 5 years of experience
Professional competencies for this position:
· Documented skills in formulation of program/project proposals and reports;
· Ability to use Logical Framework Approach as a tool in project/program design and follow-up;
· Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills;
· Proven communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
· Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French;
· Proficiency with software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
Specific skills, knowledge and experience
· Experience at a similar position is an asset;
· Knowledge of Arabic, Afar and/or Somali languages an advantage
