Purpose of the Consultancy
The purpose of the consultancy work is to provide technical assistance to the MH program and MH team of Administration of Refugee and Returnee Affairs (ARRA) and IMC in the five refugee camps of Dollo Ado through training, mentorship, consultation (onsite, telephone and possibly internet) and supportive supervision.
The specific objectives of the consultancy are:
Duties and responsibilities of the consultant:
Review and update the mhGAP training curricula as per the international and national standards and recommendations.
Field travel to IMC’s MH project implementation sites – the five refugee camps of Dollo Ado (Buramino, Helewoiny, Kobe, Melkadida and Bokolomanyo).
Collaborate and work closely with key staffs of IMC Senior Health Program Manager at the country office and MHPSS Manager and other MH staffs at field-level), ARRA, UNHCR and other partners at the field-level.
Conduct mhGAP Basic Training and Refreshment Trainings on mhGAP.
Conduct MH integration analysis at the five PHCU.
Undertake onsite mentorship and supportive supervision at the five refugee camps MH program for ARRA and IMC staffs with standard guides and tools.
Provide onsite clinical consultation services at ARRA health centers in the five refugee camps as well as telephone and internet consultation, as needed.
Prepare regular reports for training, supportive supervision, clinical consultation sessions and integration analysis and submit to key IMC staffs at country office and field-level.
Support and participate in regular meetings, conferences, workshops and campaigns focusing on MH at the field-level, as appropriate.
Support different assessments and evaluations of the MH project being conducted at field-level.
MD Degree with specialization on Psychiatry and
Minimum of 01 year experience after specialization.
Valid and renewed professional license
Training of Trainers (TOT) on mhGAP
Previous experience on provision of mhGAP training and on the job mentoring for health workers.
Good knowledge on public mental health approach, prevention and treatment models in MHPSS
Strong organizational, training, coaching and supervisory skills
Good report writing skills.
Computer Skills - Applications including word, excel, and PowerPoint
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
Ability to communicate with Somali language will be an asset
