Position: Food Assistance Information Reporting Specialist
Salary: USD 808

The position is responsible to monitor and review the overall Commodity movement of CARE Ethiopia using the tracking system. This includes the receipt of food at PDPs, dispatch to FDPs, receipt at FDPs, transportation and distribution at all CARE operational woredas. The position is also responsible to coordinate proper recording, commodity reporting and to ensure that the commodity control system is in line with CARE’s Resource Food Manual and donor minimum standard. She/he also trains and supports CARE staffs on commodity management related issues.
The position demands regular reporting to various stakeholders on commodity movement, review relevant documents and the process.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
§ Develop a commodity data management system for easy control of food movement at all point.
§ Ensure that commodity control system is in line with CARE’s Food Resource Manual and donor regulations;
§ Update all commodity shipment status data received at main warehouse for all commodities;
§ Analyze inventory reports and provide feedbacks to field based Commodity Analysts/officers and management staff;
§ Support CARE and partner's staffs on commodity management related issues;
§ Provide the necessary backstop support to Field Offices to ensure that the offices prepare detailed food distribution plans, periodical food accomplishment reports and timely submission;
§ Provide ongoing feedback to Field Office Commodity Analysts/Officers and Supervisors on preparation of CSR, RSR and LSR
§ Assist the Field Office commodity staffs in preparation of Annual Commodity Movement Summary report; and monthly and quarterly report consolidation;
§ Follow up and receive, Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports from Field Offices and review ;
§ Collect information from Field Offices on the status of commodity transpirations, prepare receipt confirmation and send to Procurement Unit after transportation of each round completed.
§ Analyze, review and compile the annual commodity movements at each Field Offices and compile the reports
§ Maintain files for incoming and outgoing reports and ensures the integrity of commodity management.
§ Technically Supervise, leads guides, trains, coaches and supports the Field Office Food Assistance Reporting officers;
§ Provides functional oversight to Field Offices, in particular Commodity supervisors, PMs and Officers to ensure proper documentation, reporting and controlling of commodities.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW HOW)
· BA degree in Accounting, Supplies Management or equivalent combination of education and work experience
· MA degree in Accounting, management or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· 4 years of experience in commodity management, warehouse handling, etc.
