Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst and System Controller, under the supervision of Finance Director, is responsible for analyzing processes and evaluating solutions for control weaknesses over recording of all purchases (including fixed assets, raw materials (feed), supplies, medicines, disinfectants and vaccines), finished goods, payment invoice processing, proper costing, budget preparation & control, financial analysis and management report preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review of all financial control process and drafting new financial policies
Sampling and testing accounting transactions:
payment cycle
revenue cycle
cost accumulation and application
fixed asset and biological asset recognition and depreciation
proactive testing of high risk processes
intercompany sales and asset transfers
profit sharing calculation with regional governments
Risk management:
investigation of suspicious activities
proactive testing of high risk processes
Evaluation of compliance with local and international tax and GAAP regulations
evaluation of sufficient documentation over financial transactions
Evaluation of capital transactions regarding compliance with NBE and ERCA regulations: equity issuance, capital registration, shareholder loans, dividend declaration
Preparation for external audit
IFRS technical research
Coaching of junior staff on technical accounting issues
Qualification
Degree in accounting/finance
Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software
Excellent computer proficiency
2-4 years external financial audit experience
Knowledge of ERCA standards and audit practices
Experience:
Four years and above accounting/finance related work experience.
