Aged and Children Pastoralist Association (ACPA) is national non-governmental, non-political and non-religious development organization registered with the federal government of Ethiopia. It had been operational since 2009.
ACPA invites qualified applicants for the project -Building resilience and creation of economic opportunities in Liben cluster under RESET II with an objective to strengthen economic opportunities and resilience of the most vulnerable communities to human –induced and natural crises, through measures that will increase livelihoods and employment, and better access to basic services, in Liben cluster which are known to be drought prone and food insecure.
1. Advising the WASH team in water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programming, in broad coordination with other sectors
2. Ensuring quality and integrity of implementation, including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlines
3. Identifying and addressing staff capacity building opportunities
4. Evaluating the relevance and appropriateness of current and future programming in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in the local context
5. Advising on mainstreaming gender, protection, in project and program activities
6. Assisting in the preparation of the WASH proposals
7. Preparing the activity plan and monitoring and evaluation system for the proposal
8. Analyzing the baseline study data to determine the underlining needs of the beneficiaries
9. Undertaking staff capacity building in the use of mapping tools
10. Contributing to contingency planning for possible WASH emergency response if required
11. Organizes Community mobilization in an integrated way on WASH
12. Provide guidance and support to the branch managers in the area of WASH, and Cooperatives
13. Monitors and follow-up for outcome and report to appropriate personnel following organization-approved indicators
14. Plan, facilitate and conduct in collaboration with Woreda health bureaus and health extension workers to the targeted schools and communities to improve the sanitation and hygieneInitiate, plan, provide training to community development facilitators regularly on appropriate WASH practices
15. Organize/Prepare quality progress reports monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually bothOrganize and prepare success stories,
16. Carry out assessments related to WASH community development annually.
17. Create networking and partnership with relevant partners to enhance the sanitation and hygiene promotion at Woreda and Kebele levels. This includes regular WASH forums;
18.Training of government staffs and community members on disability issues, water quality, and system functionality etcWork closely with the program manager.
Qualification
1. BSc degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, sanitary engineering and other related fields;
The candidate should have at least 3-5 years’ experience in WASH and Community development related work in urban and rural environment
Other Skills:
c. Fluent in at least the following languages: Somali and English.
d. curious, great problem-solving skills, unafraid to ask questions, and results motivated.
e. Excellent communication, facilitation and networking skills with a wide range of actors across geographical areas
f. Computer literate especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
