Position: Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist
Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent will:
§ Participate in the design, development and implementation of the knowledge management framework, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
§ Develop the annual and quarterly work plans for the knowledge management activities of the division
§ Identify and coordinate the knowledge products and knowledge services in collaboration with internal and external partners
§ Develop the mechanism for the transfer of knowledge (knowledge sharing), so that the organization is kept aware of how information and experience is shared inside and (as appropriate) outside the organization with clients, partners, and stakeholders
§ Monitor the process of knowledge, creation, collection, connection and dissemination
§ Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's operational business processes
§ Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, knowledge agencies and experts
§ Provide technical guidance to less-experienced staff members in relation to knowledge management.
§ Strengthen links between knowledge sharing and the information systems, and improve integration among information systems in the organization to facilitate seamless exchange of information.
§ Promote collaborative tools, such as activity rooms, to facilitate sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external partners.
§ Support and/or lead the conduct of meetings, including meeting preparations, coordination, preparation of meeting summaries/ minutes and action tracking
§ Maintain communications on knowledge sharing across the organization.
§ Participate in orientation and training sessions, and preparation of promotional materials
Qualification:
M.A or PhD degree in Information Systems Management/ Business Administration / or any other related discipline
Experience:
7 years with a Master’s degree or 4 years with a PhD.
Other skills/requirements:
§ Certification in Knowledge Management or related area
§ Familiarity with collaboration, and content management system, knowledge management techniques and capturing tools (using Wiki’s, blogs, etc.)
§ Excellent knowledge of change management, business process and project management,
§ Client-centricity and responsiveness; and motivation to learn and share
§ Analytical thinking, problem solving and passion for excellence
§ Teamwork, communication effectiveness and stakeholder management
§ Monitoring, reporting, records and documents management skill
§ Familiarity with contexts policies and procedures
