ZOA Relief/Hope| Recovery is an international NGO registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Charities and Societies Agency as Foreign Charity under registration certificate number 0739 to work in the fields of emergency relief and recovery operations to support the lives of refugees, returnees, internally displaced and victims of conflicts and natural disasters. It existed since 1973 worldwide, and 1993 in Ethiopia.
The organization is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the following position
Summary of the Position:
This post is important and in line with ZOA Ethiopia strategic plan particularly food security and livelihood interventions. In addition to this the post will help ZOA Ethiopia to implement livelihood activities including business skills training, vocational skills training, income generating activities that focused on youth on the move in Dollo Addo area.
Typical Responsibilities - Key end Results of the Position:*
The Officer will provide technical assistance to young people on the move in designing profitable income generating activities and alternative/complementary business activities
Conduct market based need assessment for capacity building of young people on the move on business and vocational skills
Provide business skills training to project beneficiaries
Assist established youth businesses to identify and develop market links for their products
Gather and collect relevant data for socio-economic monitoring and studies for best IGA development in for young people on the move in and around Dollo Addo town
Guarantee timely development and implementation of monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets;
Distribute inputs to project beneficiaries and maintain accurate records of the same;in collaboration with the program Coordinator
Proactively participate in baseline and end line data collection.
Establish and maintain a good rapport with project beneficiaries, as well as local government officials, community leaders and relevant local organizations;
Harmonize the implementation of livelihood activities for youth ensuring good collaboration and networking with other partners operating in the woreda
Conduct selection of beneficiaries in close collaboration with livelihood assistant and beneficiary selection committee
The applicant should possess a degree in Agricultural economics, Agribusiness management, economics and business development (with a focus on agriculture and or small scale enterprises) is an added advantage.
A minimum of three of more years work experience with a focus on business and enterprise development or related interventions for youth
