Main Purpose of the Role
The business development executive contributes to the development of the company’s growth and performance in the territory through delivery of sales, revenue and profit targets in Accounts; by ensuring that area sales and development objectives are achieved through planning, direction, motivation and follow-up activities with the areas field sales team.
Results are driven through leadership of the Regional Sales Managers sustaining consumer sales of the company’s total product range through the accounts with in a designated Area.
The Business development executive will have an allocation of accounts to develop business with by controlling the selling functions of the company’s brands.
Role Accountability
Strategy
· Lead the implementation of specific field sales strategies for the region in line with the country Field Sales Plan.
· Help devise merchandising, promotional & selling objectives to improve company sales performance within profit guidelines.
· Help create & execute visibility in the designated territory as per the standard of the company
Customer Relationships
· Identify key stores, owners, management to build relationship that both drive results and help provide insight and influence in the market place.
· Ensure the company enjoys an effective business relationship based on sound commercial principles that are superior to competitors.
- Ascertain and anticipate problem areas or issues that prevent or constrain the achievement of objectives and develop strategies to overcome / resolve them.
Operational Performance
· Deliver volume, sales revenue, margin, promotional, market share targets in the area.
· Monitor in store compliance, presentation and performance of the company’s products.
· Maintain a good level of understanding of competitor products, and maintain appropriate market intelligence networks within the business.
· Ensure the areas field sales team comply with Commercial & Fair Trading legislation at all times.
· Ensure the areas field sales team comply with all Health & Safety regulations and legislation at all times.
People Management
· Lead your team to deliver the company vision to be the innovative face of dairy, and to drive a high performance culture
· Spend maximum time in field working shoulder to shoulder coaching Territory Sales. Ensure a development and succession plan.
- Ensure field reporting and other administration forms and procedures are utilized and prepared as required from time to time by the company.

Education
- BA degree in Sales/Marketing/Business Management or equivalent
- Sales Training Courses
- Tertiary qualification
Experience
- 5+ years in field sales roles
Industry Experience
- FMCG Experience
Valid driving license is a must
