Background
Nuru International Ethiopia is a US-based international NGO working to end extreme poverty in remote rural communities in Ethiopia. Nuru’s first integrated development project in Ethiopia began in 2013 in Boreda Woreda, Gamo Gofa Zone, and SNNPR. Nuru currently works in four integrated intervention areas/programs: Agricultural Extension & Rural Livelihoods, Cooperative Development, Healthcare and Education. Nuru Ethiopia’s Cooperative Program supports grain-marketing primary cooperatives to provide effective agricultural services to members to help them overcome chronic hunger, cope with economic shocks and increase agricultural income and other income generating opportunities.
Currently, Nuru Ethiopia employs approximately 60+ staff based both at headquarters and field offices in Gamo Gofa Zone of SNNPRS.

Position Description
The Agri-Business Expert will be responsible for leading the development and execution of farmer cooperative business dealings. The Expert will advise Nuru Ethiopia staff and Hidota Cooperative Union’s General Manager (GM) on researching new crop products, finding buyers for those products, creating detailed financial models, and generating a sustainable profit for Hidota Union and Primary Cooperatives.
The position will identify, analyze, and develop new markets for maize, haricot beans, and other marketable grains with the express purpose to make Hidota Union and member PCS financially sustainable while growing the Union’s market position in SNNPR, Ethiopia, and abroad.
Specific responsibilities include:

Terms and conditions: The appointment will be for short-term fixed employment based on annual contract extensions depending on performance
