FOR ASSESSING THE IMPLEMENTATION AND EFFECTIVENESS OF LAFP SERVICES THROUGH LEVEL 4 HEALTH EXTENSION WORKERS
The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) is a health professionals association established in 1991 G.C and committed to improve the health and living status of the people of Ethiopia through the dedicated and active involvement of the organization and its members and through collaboration with stakeholders.
EPHA has been implementing the David and Lucile Packard Foundation funded Reproductive Health/Family Planning grants to expand and increase access to quality and comprehensive community based Family Planning services. Recently, EPHA began a three year (October, 2016- September, 2019) RH/FP project which aims to support the FMoH IUCD through level–IV HEWs’ initiatives via building the competency of Level IV HEWs, equipping health posts, strengthening referral linkage, community engagement and generating evidence based information.
In line with this, EPHA in collaboration with FMoH, MCH directorate need to evaluate the implementation status and effectiveness of the provision of LAFP methods mainly IUCD through level–IV HEWs with the purpose of generating evidence and lessons learnt, refining and designing intervention packages for further improvement of the initiative and national scale up of the program. Thus, EPHA is looking for individual consultant who will act as a principal investigator for the intended research.

Expected Duration and working arrangement
The Consultant is expected to work on a full-time basis (i.e. Monday through Friday). If required EPHA will arrange and provide office workspace, internet access and other supports for the consultant. The entire assignment including preparation of the study protocols and tools, recruitment and training of data collectors, field work, analysis of data and report writing and drafting intervention packages and proposal for the second phase follow up study using RCT design. The first phase (Evaluative Assessment of Phase –I program) estimated to last for 90 calendar days and additional 60 days for initiating the second phase( Follow up Study) after signing of the contract agreement.

Professional service fee: The consultant is expected to indicate his/her daily service fee in USD (consider 2% withholding tax)
