Project Overview:
The Primary Health Care Transformation Initiative (PTI) is a three-year effort (Jan 2016 – Dec 2018) to transform management and leadership capacity across woredas health offices and primary health care facilities in Ethiopia. Specifically, this project aims to build a culture of performance management and accountability at the woreda-level in Ethiopia. Key activities of the project include development, testing and national endorsement of key performance indicators, application of effective management standards, establishing a well-functioning management team in woreda health offices and primary health care facilities through a partnership mentoring model and yearlong certificate-level training, fostering consistent governance and community engagement through effective governing boards.
Job Overview:
The PTI Management Mentor will be responsible for leading PTI activities within assigned woredas, including PTI interventions and mentorship to local counterparts. PTI Management Mentors will provide management, governance, and related technical support to assigned woredas. This role will require a year long commitment to live in the assigned woreda. This position will routinely liaise with local officials, local implementing partners, and related YGE-GHLI project staff. This position will report to the PTI Senior Regional Manager, SNNPR. This position will work with senior leadership in the woreda and health center directors to improve management, governance, and ultimately performance of the woreda.

Reports to: PTI Senior Regional Manager
Contract term: Full time position, fixed term contract (1 year, with possible renewal until the end of the project)
Position Location: This position will be based in Kucha, Marka and Damot Gale SNNPR, with occasional travel to Addis Ababa and other areas as required. This position requires full-time placement in a rural setting without many of the conveniences of a regional capital.
