Farm Africa, founded in 1985, is a specialist international non-governmental organization working in remote and resource-poor rural areas in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Farm Africa believes in a prosperous rural Africa and it aims to reduce poverty by helping poor farmers and herders improve their livelihoods in a sustainable way by developing tailor-made approaches appropriate to their circumstances. Farm Africa works in partnership with communities, governments, local organisations, international NGOs and private sectors to develop strong rural livelihoods and then share and scale the results of this work with others to achieve maximum impact.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Responsible for country office financial accounting and reporting in accordance with the legal requirements, highest ethical standards and internationally recognized financial reporting practices. Provides financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data and supports financial decision making by collecting, analysing, investigating, and reporting financial data. Responsible for verification of documents, preparation and posting of Country Office transactions. Follow up the payment of all government tax and ensure compliance to government tax regulations. Manages the preparation of payroll, processing transfers and preparing & analysing related journals and ledgers. Further prepares bank and balance sheet account reconciliation at Country Office level
In addition, the post holder will undertake additional duties assigned by the finance manager.
