Role summary | The Training and community mobilization Officer, under the guidance and technical and managerial support of the respective Cluster Manager will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the community mobilization and training aspects of the foundation’s programmes under the cluster office for trachoma control in respective zones of Oromia regional state covered under the cluster office. S/he will be based in the respective cluster office and is required to travel extensively to project areas. | ||

Training, and Community Mobilization Activities
· Works closely with existing community mobilization system and build capacity of health extension workers for efficient and effective community mobilization for uptake of trachoma elimination services in the region · S/he will facilitate the project’s TT Surgery training and community mobilization activities under the cluster office · S/he will map out training plans, design and develop training programs · Participate in the development of contextual Community mobilization, and training programmes in line with FHFE country strategy. · Ensure trainings for the surgical teams and case finders etc. is undertaken as per the national and international guidelines and standards, · Coordinate supply of all the necessary medical and non-medical equipment and supplies need for the training. · Keep track of training participants and trainees, · Promote program within community, especially involving community leaders and decision makers · S/he will ensure effective community mobilization is undertaken to increase surgical uptake in the project target areas, · Continuously monitors and evaluate impact of community mobilization and MDA campaigns based on the target community and HEWs feedback on service uptake. · Plays a key role to raise awareness of and commitment to eliminate blinding Trachoma among key decision makers and stakeholders at community level. · Support the establishment of a proper functioning referral system from community to TT surgeons and from TT surgeons to relevant health services. · In collaboration with the Regional Training and community mobilization coordinator ;s/he will also be expected provide technical support to the zonal NTD technical advisors and zonal level partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring, tracking indicators, and writing periodic technical report to the foundation · Performs out other assignments as may be required and as directed by the immediate supervisor. |

Qualifications & Experience | · BSc degree in Public health or related discipline · Minimum of five years of relevant experience in public health, eye health or disease prevention and control programs. · Proven working experience in coordinating multiple training events. · Experience in coordinating large scale community mobilization programmes · Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate) · Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
| · MPH in health promotion ,communication or related field
Experience in Trachoma programs in an international NGO setting · Experience in capacity building and facilitation of TOT training
