Plan International Ethiopia is looking for a WASH Officer to be based at Country Office.
The purpose of this position is to support the WASH Specialist on Water and Sanitation component at the CO level and ensure linkages to the hygiene component. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of water and sanitation facilities in line with pre-agreed program plans and objectives and provides support on constructions throughout the project cycle. Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and facilitating the achievement of results through partners. The post holder will report to the WASH Specialist at the Country Office. The post holder will have responsibility for the feasibility study, detail design, contract management, regular monitoring, construction supervision and quality control, and report preparations of water and sanitation facilities.
She/he ensures integration as well as smooth teamwork within the Country Office and across other program Units. Key components of the position also include proposal writing, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of child centered community development.
To be successful, applicants need to have a BA degree in Sanitary Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or related field of studies with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the required field. From the overall required experience two (2) years’ should be in an NGO environment.
