Chemonics International seeks experienced professionals for the USAID-funded Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. GHSC-PSM Ethiopia will serve as the primary vehicle through which USAID will procure and furnish health commodities, provide technical assistance to improve the country’s management of the supply chain, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global and local health initiatives.
The project is currently seeking qualified Infrastructure Improvement Specialist who will be responsible for providing PFSA warehouse and health facility infrastructure and related civil works design, standardization, improvement, and supervision of all improvement, repair / construction services and ensure that improvement, repair /renovation work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction applicable to one or more disciplines for GHSC-PSM technical activities. Job Requirement
Professional degree in civil Engineering, or related technical area
At least 5 years of experience in construction-related project management.
Demonstrable knowledge of Ethiopian building codes and permit processes.
Proven command of construction quality assurance procedures
Experience in roof repair of large scale steel structured warehouse projects desired
Knowledge of construction activities including material, equipment, cost and time requirements to perform construction tasks
Ability to manage tight deadlines and quick turnaround on completion of activities.
Ability to use Microsoft applications: Excel, Work, and Outlook; and Auto Cad or similar technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work with culturally diverse teams.
Ability to work independently, to take initiative, and use good judgment.
