About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. Summary of Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Project Director, the Technical Specialist- HMIS will team up with the Senior HIS Specialist to assist the FMoH in strengthening the national Health Management Information System (HMIS). Technical Specialist- HMIS will be responsible for promoting the roll-out of the standardized national HMIS, and coordinate the HMIS data quality and information use interventions by the Project, and ensure FMoH and RHB ownership of HMIS and electronic CHIS. He/ she will represent the project in relevant Technical Working Groups formed by FMoH to improve the management of national HMIS and the data quality assurance activities. He/ she will act as a national master trainer for building the capacity of health managers and staff on HIS management, data quality assurance, data analysis and information use.
Specific Responsibilities
Education
A Master’s in Health Informatics, Information Systems (IS), Management Information System (MIS) or related field
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health management systems, data visualization, analytics experience
Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and DHIS 2, SPPS, EPI Info (advantageous)
Language Proficiency
Excellent verbal and communication skills in both English and Amharic
