About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. Summary of Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Project Director, the Data Use Specialist will be responsible for assisting the FMoH to innovate and implement approaches to improve HIS data use. He/she will work in collaboration with the FMOH and will lead the project’s efforts to create, monitor, document and disseminate the best practices of Data Use Innovation Labs. He/she will help improve understanding of the barriers to data use and provide support to woreda health management and facility teams to strengthen performance review with data use as a central tenet.
Specific Responsibilities
Education
Master’s Degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field with a focus on data use and analytics
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ of technically relevant work experience in a country setting in data utilization and visualization including Microsoft Office packages, DHIS2 and other relevant health information software packages. Basic competency in managing datasets and programming using SAS and/or SPSS. SAS preferred
Language Proficiency
Excellent verbal and communication skills in both English and Amharic
