Program Background:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster.
The IRC has been working in Ethiopia since 2000, currently working in six regions in providing relief services to refugees, victims of drought, and war affected populations.
Scope:
Under the direct supervision of the EH/HP Officer, the Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Assistant is a junior level position that involves planning, management and monitoring the proper functioning of the Hygiene Promotion& sanitation activities in Melkadida Refugee Camp and nearby hosting community. The position requires supervising a team of refugee social workers, organizing and training hygiene promoters and Volunteers and improving the quality of the program in the camp as well as in host community. The position also requires proper management of the financial, material and other resources under the program and reporting periodically to supervisors.
