About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.
Summary of Responsibilities
Learning & Knowledge Management Specialist will work with the Project Director and the technical specialists to obtain data and promote active use of data at all levels in the regions. He/she provides data entry, data management, and coordination support. He/ she sets a clear KM vision and direction, prioritize activities, execute work plans, and lead the production and dissemination of county-wide publications and promotional materials. He/ she will develop a strategy for Knowledge Management and Communications that includes mechanisms for creating, distributing and sharing experiences, innovations, and best practices. He/ she is also responsible for providing technical assistance in the development and production of deliverables such as annual reporting, quarterly reporting, and other required deliverables. He/ she will also collaborate with technical staff in writing and editing marketing materials, including success stories, technical briefs, tools, and other reports.
Specific Responsibilities
Education
A Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Knowledge Management, Public Health or related fields
Experience
Minimum 5 years of work experience in project communications or KM, strategy development, with a knowledge of health data analysis, designing, testing and implementing eHealth systems and strategies, etc. Experience in communicating with a range of stakeholders/partners including policymakers and government officials, NGOs, the media with excellent copy-editing skills and attention to details, both organizationally and editorially.
Excellent in using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail, online data sharing tools (Google Drive, Docs etc.)
Language Proficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Amharic
