About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Health Informatics Specialist will team up with the IT Specialist and the System Analyst and work in close collaboration with the FMoH Health Information Technology Directorate. He/ she is expected to have extensive knowledge of Ethiopian health system, medical terminologies, system development and database fundamentals with problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to review technical documents, assess data elements, indicator definitions etc., and thereby provide appropriate technical assistance to the project and FMoH compatible with the Ethiopian context.
Specific Responsibilities
Education
MSc/BSc degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems or related field
Experience
More than 5 years of work experience in health data analysis, designing, testing and implementing eHealth systems and strategies, providing end-user training, understand software development processes, and user requirement documentation
Language Proficiency
Excellent verbal and communication skills in both English and Amharic
