About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Finance and Accounting Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Finance & Operations Director (FOD) and will be responsible for record keeping of financial transactions, preparing financial statements, maintaining cash control, preparing staff payroll and supporting procurement. He/ she will also maintain field accounts documents, support office operations and provide financial analysis and report to help management take decisions. The Finance Officer will travel up to 20% of his/ her time to provide support to the Finance & Operations Managers in each region.
Specific Responsibilities
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Business Administration or related field
Experience
More than 5 years of solid experience as an accountant preferably in a donor funded project
Excellent in QuickBooks, Peachtree Accounting, and Microsoft Offices packages
Ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to rapidly changing environments
Language Proficiency
Fluent in written and spoken English and Amharic;
