ROLE PURPOSE:
The Regional Education Manager is responsible for management and technical support related to teachers’ professional development and support system under the Reading for Ethiopia’s Achievement Developed Technical Assistance (READ TA) Project and will oversee field-based and school level teachers' development and capacity building activities in the respective region. S/he will ensure the efficient and timely implementation of activities at Regional, Zonal, Woreda and School levels. S/he will work closely with the RSEB, WEOs, CTEs and target schools to coordinate and implement the project’s teacher training activities. The Coordinator will represent Save the Children’s (SC) READ TA Teacher Training program with regional and Woreda government structures, NGOs and READ TA partners. He will oversee regional teacher training operation, liaise with regionally located partners, and supervise Regional Teacher Training Assistant Coordinators assigned to the region. He represents SC values and principles in interactions with staff and external audiences. These values and principles include commitment to the mission of Save the Children, team orientation, quality management and leadership development. Furthermore the position requires representation of Save the Children at regional level coordination fora.
