About the project
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. seeks to recruit health information system professionals, as well as finance and administrative staff for its Data Use Project (DUP).The goal of the project is to improve collection and use of high-quality routine information; improve the quality, efficiency, and availability of primary health, and nutrition services at all levels of the Ethiopian health system. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is a public health management consulting and research organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and communities throughout the world.
Summary of Responsibilities
The System Developer is responsible for supporting FMoH in designing, coding, testing and documenting electronic health applications including training end-users and deploying the eHealth solutions. The System Developer is also expected to conduct knowledge/skill sharing training to fellow IT team members in DUP, FMoH and/or RHBs.
Specific Responsibilities
The System Developer will be embedded in FMoH, HIT directorate and be responsible to:
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields with more than 5 years of work experience
Experience
More than 5 years of experience in:
Programming languages: such as Java Script, HTML, XML, Angular 2, NodeJS, C#.NET (WinForm/WPF), ASP.NET, Java,
Mobile development (Android/Windows)
Database Management Systems: SQL Server 2008-2012, PostgreSQL, MySQL
Code repositories: GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket
IDEs: Visual Studio 2013 and above, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code, Android Studio
Additional: Object Oriented Design, cloud platforms, project management tools (such as JIRA), previous experience in eHealth application development is advantageous
Language Proficiency
Excellent knowledge (spoken and written) of English and Amharic languages
Ability to: Communicate to technical peers as well as non-technical FMoH/RHB staffs; learn and adopt new technologies; handle tight deadlines and multi-task on a number of projects
