Job Purpose Summary
The role of Finance Coordinator is to provide support in ensuring that NRC programme consistently complies with all the legal regulations, financial requirements and humanitarian standards set by NRC and its donor partners.
The Finance Coordinator is responsible to ensure all financial aspects of the program and field office are in accordance with NRC rules and regulations and complies with donor requirements and the organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure that country set up adhere to Financial Handbook, NRC policies, donor and auditor requirements
· Implement NRC’s financial systems, routines and procedures
· Maintain overall budget control and monitor cash flows
· Management of financial team
· Training of line managers and staff with financial responsibilities
· Provide regular analysis and reports
· Implement anti-corruption policy
· Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
· Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
· Prepare and submit reports and analysis (Assist the fiancé manager in reviewing and consolidating all grant management reports)
· Ensure proper filing of all support documents
· Support line managers/Coordinators in budget preparation, monitoring and financial procedures and require support team trainings
· Management of finance team
· Member of Area Management Team (AMT)
· Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures
· Support project staff in financial matters
· Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow for the area
· Ensure development and implementation of financial systems and procedures
Professional competencies:
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
· Strong accounting skills and experience including management of the general ledger, journal entries, payroll, payables and balance sheet;
· Strong background in compliance, donor regulations (USAID, UN and European donors), and coordination with operations and program departments;
· Experience in financial analysis and reporting within non-profit organizations;
· Experience in training and capacity building of staff;
· Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Agresso a plus;
· Fluent written and oral communication in English.
