Background and Objective
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) was established with the aim to contribute towards advancing Peace and Security in Africa. IPSS conducts academic programs, research, and policy analysis on issues related to peace and security in Africa. Acting as the policy and action- oriented research of IPSS, the African Peace and Security Programme (APSP), a programme supported by GIZ, is a joint collaboration between the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) of Addis Ababa University and the African Union (AU). It was established with the aim to contribute towards enhancing the capacity of the Peace and Security Unit (PSD) of the AU.
IPSS is made up of five programme units or pillars who in turn are supported by the administrations and finance team to carry out their day to day asks. The objective of the position is to support the administrative functions of the institute in a way it is well organized and fit for its intended purpose.
