1. Position: Facility and General Maintenance Technician
Required No.: 2 (Two)
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Reports to: Senior Specialist, Facility Management
JOB PURPOSE
Assist to ensure that the ECX office look and feel is in line with the ECX by implementing innovative, creative ideas, set up and materials. Assist to ensure clean and safe work environment service is provided at the reception and in office support activities. Realize that furniture and facilities of ECX are efficiently maintained to standard requirements. Provide professional ingredients to devise, plan, and implement when approved office facilities/office furniture and equipment’s and assist technically. Follow up the appropriate handling of office and office furniture by those entrusted to handle them.
SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of the Division
· Follow-up and ensure proper request, preparation , and timey general service payment of daily laborer
· Facilitate quality and timely delivery of refreshments as well as cleanliness of the office;
· Supplement in supervision of office facility activities including information dissemination, office administration and front office service that is in line with the ECX image;
· Support to provide professional and technical guidance and supervision services to office administration, facility and other supporting staff.
· Ensures that the ECX office look and feel is in line with the ECX corporate image by implementing innovative, creative ideas, set up and materials (plant, picture, notice board etc).
· coordinate activities with work space allocation arrangement and follows up furniture/equipment maintenance/repair service requirements in collaboration with concerned Division
· Consult with managers, other personnel to resolve problems in areas of office work place and environment such as office lighting system, air conditioning, meeting room booking, equipment performance, utility availability;
· Support the development of a planned maintenance of office and office furniture to ensure uninterrupted operation;
· Prepare annual schedule for preventive maintenance and compulsory inspection of office and office furniture;
· Prepare, issue and secure approval of major maintenances order;
· Follow up major maintenance progress and confirm proper functioning of the repaired office and office furniture;;
· Deliver scraps, replaced furniture to the store;
· Ensure that all office and office furniture are clean, neat and always in a good condition;
· Collect an approved repair work orders sent from various work units and perform or facilitate services of respective request;
· Follow-up and support in office layout and space decisions and proper alignment,
· Place and expedite orders for requests for request of office furniture design and building and repair services.
· Collect materials of office designing and buildings from store and dispatch to work stations in consultation with the Property Administration Division
· Handover repaired materials to the concerned unit by completing preventive and troubleshooting failures.
· Follow up the delivery status and arrival of repaired materials and assemble/disassemble office furniture and equipment.
· Prepare maintenance service report on periodical basis.
· Advice and assist the unit working with outsider’s professionals or consultants to get professional service on repaired or damaged items consulting with other units technical staff.
· Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
· Level-II, III, or IV / Diploma in Woods Works, Metal Works or Related Fields, and 2/1 Years of relevant experience in Wood & Metal Work, Carpentry, and other office maintenance related activities.
