Main Purpose
Supervision of projects and compound to ensure proper electrical system installation and energy management as per MSF protocol.
Support the capital and the projects in the daily logistics activities and the maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.
Main objectives and responsibilities of the position
Electrical systems and energy,
· Designing, planning, implementing and performance of all technical works and installation.
· Installation, reparation and maintenance of all electrical systems and energy equipment. Ensure that they are functional at all times.
· Receive repair/ maintenance requests and record them, follow up the works and provide feedback on the status of the requests.
· Timely execution of the electrical safety checklist.
· Equipment and installation include but are not limited to:
o Generators,
o Electrical installations of 380/220V systems and 12V UPS systems,
o Refrigerators, air conditioners, pumps, automatic switches, change over switches, …
o Cabling,
o Lightening,
o Earthing,
o RCD checking,
o Preparation of BoQ for new electrical installation,
o ……..
As Flying Tech Log in support of Coordination or Project offices assist in the following tasks:
· Monitor maintenance activities of infrastructures and management of non-medical equipment according to MSF standards.
· Filling gaps for log manager position.
Maintenance and construction (at project site)
· Ensure the check and follow-up of facilities (office compound, medical facilities, residences ...) under the line manager supervision.
· Carrying out regular visits to the facilities, reporting any anomalies or problems to the line manager.
· Evaluating rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work in accordance with instructions given by supervisor, and accounting on progress.
· Identification of local contractors and follow-up of the works.
Security and safety (at project site)
· Checking that premises observe safety and security norms (fire extinguishers present, electrical installations earthed, etc.) and take the necessary actions when improvements are needed.
· Together with the head guard, ensure surveillance and guarding activities in all MSF facilities and premises are correctly implemented.
Materials and equipment (at project site)
· Ensures together with the line manager and mechanic the proper functioning, required checks and maintenance activities of energy equipment, electrical installations, pumps , generators, air conditioners, office equipment, plumbing and water distribution, drainage, sanitation according to MSF standards.
· Monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical machines/devices.
· Ensures correct maintenance of the cold chain.
· Follow-up the use and maintenance of shelter material.
· Follow-up investment material.
· Install, maintain as per the schedule and repair biomedical when necessary.
· Train the MSF staff on the appropriate use and minor maintenance of all energy, electrical installations, pumps, generators, air conditioners, biomedical material…
Communication (at project site)
· Supervision of the radio room
Transport and Drivers (at project site)
Supervision of the Head driver and ensuring that the following is correctly implemented:
· Planning and tracking of the movements,
· Adherence to all MSF driving rules and regulations,
· Proper treatment of vehicles and prevent damage,
· Daily and weekly vehicle checks,
· Cleaning of vehicles and basic maintenance,
· Planning of cars and drivers schedule.
Coordinate and lead the logistics team under his/her responsibility, (daily workers or fixed employees): (at project site)
· Defining each person’s tasks, supervising them on a daily basis and checking the quality of their work (punctuality, rigour, quality, etc.).
· Evaluations of employees.
· Drawing up working schedules for logistics teams for each department or facility.
· Organising and leading meetings of the team under supervision.
· Participating in the recruitment of personnel for his/her team.
General
· The responsibilities mentioned above are not exhaustive and other work can be required according to the needs of the mission.
· Mobility is requested from MSF staff, including short term assignments from their usual place of work.
· Part of any MSF-employee responsibilities is the attendance of trainings as per the requirements of the organisation.

· Education: Essential secondary education and
Diploma in Electricity.
· Experience : Minimum 2 years previous experience in Logistics and Electricity.
Experience in MSF is advantageous
· Languages : Mission language essential, local language desirable.
· Knowledge : Essential Computer Literacy (word, excel)
· Competences : TBD.
