In relation to the startup of a new Emergency Response project in rural East Haraghe Zone aiming at the provision of drinking water to drought affected children and families with or without disabilities, HI international is seeking a dedicated and qualified person to take up the position as Project Manager.
Terms of employment: Temporary (3 months)Under the guidance and supervision of the Country Representative, and in collaboration with the technical advisor, the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring a coherent, comprehensive program implementation in accordance with implementing plans in collaboration with implementing partners, authorities, and actors within the Water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Project implementation
ü Plan the different stages and tasks involved in realizing water trucking and hygiene sensitization sessions as drawn up in the project plan.
ü Facilitate and implement all the activities as described in the project documents in order to address the WASH needs of people with/without disabilities in East Hararghe area.
ü Coordinate closely with the project team and technical advisor in order to facilitate the implementation of all activities with a high level of quality and in due time.
ü Comprehend and assimilate the activities of HI staff with local authorities at field level
ü Give guidance to local authorities on data collection, implementation and reporting of the project activities.
ü Make proposition to HI head office in order to make any necessary adaptation to the project plans
ü Coordinate with other stakeholders (INGO and Water bureau) and represent HI in terms of implementation of activities in the project area
ü Provide quality assurance of the project activities
Reporting
ü In close collaboration with the MEO, develop a monitoring and evaluation plan for the project
ü In close collaboration with the MEO, put in place the data collection tools at field level in order to monitor the project implementation
ü Compile and submit monthly reports (including final one) to the MEO and TC
ü Prepare and submit monthly time sheet and cash forecast.
Human resources
ü Coordinate the work of the Field logistician and health promotion training officer.
ü Work closely with the driver and the support team.
ü Facilitate all the team meetings in order to ensure the coordination of the activities implemented by the project team
Administration, Finance and Logistics
ü Manage the project’s financial, logistical and material resources.
Experience: 3 - 5years of professional work experience in WASH sector with latest knowledge of project management with an NGO or in public sector
Essential:
ü Work Experience in WASH
ü Work experience with managing emergency response projects is a plus
ü English language and Afan Oromo skill

ü Experience in Water trucking management
ü Experience in the field of disability inclusion
