II. Organization Overview
Project HOPE People to People Health Foundation is a US based non-profit organization founded in 1958. Project HOPE (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) is dedicated to providing lasting solutions to health problems with the mission of helping people to help themselves. The organization now provides health services and program implementation in more than 35 countries.
III. Program Overview
Transform/HDR (Health Developing Regions)is a USAID funded five years RMNCH project. The project will be operational in the four Developing Regional States (DRS) namely: Afar, Benishangul - Gumuz, Gambella and Ethiopian Somali Regional States. Transform/HDR will be implemented in partnership with Amref Health Africa, Intrahealth International, Project HOPE and General Electric with the overall aim to end preventable child and maternal deaths, and further contribute to the achievement of the goals of HSTP. It is a women, children and girl-centered project, designed to increase access to integrated quality high impact MNCH-FP services; improve heath seeking behavior enhanced by reduced gender inequalities; and improved evidence-based decision making and program learning with sustainable health system strengthening.
IV. Key Responsibilities
· Advise, coordinate and oversight the implementation of supply chain management activities in Transform/DRS operational areas
· Develop annual plans and budget for supply chain management activities
· Advise and ensure the implementation of the strategies to improve availability of essential life saving commodities in health facilities
· Ensure consistent commodity stock in the health facilities
· Work closely with RHBs, PFSA’s regional hubs, and USAID-funded Supply Chain Management projects to ensure MNCH/FP commodity are available in targeted facilities
· Facilitate working relationship with organization working SCM to build the capacity of woreda and health center level commodity focal persons on quantification, requisition, inventory and overall stock management and capacity of MNC-FP supplies and commodities
· Facilitate resource mobilization for MNC-FP health-care services through partnering with private sector (public-private partnership) to equip hospital and health centers
· Facilitate the documentation of best practices and lessons learned, directed toward multiple audiences and for program scale up
· Work with regional offices and QA/QI to prepare periodic reports related to SCM activities and submits a consolidated report to the Technical Director on a timely basis
· Participate in integrated supportive supervisions, and assessment on MNC-FP commodities management and prepare report and provide feedback
· Facilitate partnership with local and international organizations that are working in the area of SCM to create partnership, collaboration and synergy in the Transform DRS operation areas
· Travel to regions to support field program activities and capacity building efforts
· Carry out other duties as assigned by management
