Job Purpose:
The Transport Officer oversees a fleet of the Company vehicles administration under the Head Office. The Transport Officer is responsible for assigning/dispatching drivers, monitoring vehicle movements, ensuring timely and proper maintenance and repairs, tracking fuel usage and consumption rates and ensuring the safety and security of the vehicles. The Transport Officer is also responsible for the processing of data and to produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise the company vehicle drivers.
· Ensure the vehicles are used in accordance with the Company’s rules and that vehicle usage data is correctly recorded.
· Collect daily and weekly vehicle assigning/dispatching formats, verify their accuracy, and work with drivers to correct any problems.
· Manage the fueling system.
· Track vehicle and fuel usage and consumption rates; ensure that potential problems or fuel misuse is raised to management.
· Compile the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual fuel consumption reports.
· Submit regular and comprehensive weekly and monthly reports to the supervisor on vehicle movements and problems.
· Maintain proper inventory of all components of vehicles, making sure they are maintained and checked frequently.
· Ensure the maintenance, oiling and servicing schedule of the vehicles is followed.
· Prepare services requisitions for repair and maintenance at the Company garage.
· Evaluate drivers’ performance, allocate and rotate appropriate work assignments.
· Track motor and 3rd party insurance and annual inspections and work with finance and other departments to ensure these are always renewed in a timely manner.
· Maintain a box filing system for each vehicle that stores all information (vehicle purchase, insurance, annual inspections, regular service times, repairs and accident reports, log sheets and other relevant documents.
· Perform any other related duties when required.

QUALIFICATION
§ BA Degree in any business field/College Diploma in Automotive Technology
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years of proven experience for BA Degree and 3 years for Diploma
