STATION OF WORK: EPHIA Satellite and Mobile Laboratories in the Field
General Summery
ICAP at Columbia University is an international non-profit organization that aims to ensure the wellness of families and communities by strengthening health systems around the world.
In partnership with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), ICAP will conduct Population-based HIV Impact Assessments (PHIA) in specific PEPFAR-supported countries. Each PHIA will define the status of the national HIV epidemic, guide allocation of resources based on evidence, and integrate capacity building of country stakeholders in the design, conduct, analysis, and use of PHIAs.
ICAP, in partnership with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is planning to conduct a PHIA to estimate the population-level impact of the national HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in Ethiopia. In addition to providing important programmatic information to the EPHI/FMoH and relevant stakeholders, this assessment of the national HIV program is of great value to HIV researchers and public health experts around the world.

Job Summary:The Satellite Laboratory Logistician is the focal person for managing inventory of reagents, equipment and supplies at the Satellite Laboratories.
Main tasks and expected results:
1. To ensure reception of Goods & Services by
a. Reviewing items onsite, inspects it, and prepare Goods Receive Note (GRN):
b. Inspecting goods for conformity to delivery and documenting before releasing the GRN.
c. Submitting the GRN is issued in three copies:
2. Stock Administration at the satellite laboratory level by
a. Ensuring the supplies received are stored safe and in the correct manner.
b. Properly store reagents and those supplies according to their specifications given by the manufacturer and requirements on packaging.
c. Using Electronic Inventory for consumables, constantly update and make available to view for the rest of the team
d. Ensuring the storage conditions to be adequate for the type of commodities stored
e. Ensuring proper documentation
3. Ensuring stock distribution by
a. Documenting consumption reports on a Goods Issue Register (GIR) or Delivery Note which requires approval by the Satellite Laboratory Supervisor (SLS) and
b. Ensure Original signed GIR / Delivery Notes kept properly and , a copy is provided to the Recipient.
4. Receive cooler pack from the Field Teams and immediately places it in the refrigerator. Issue cooler pack/Techni-ice to the field team
5. Dispose of Laboratory waste in accordance with approved procedure.6. Facilitate laboratory training
7. Implement any other tasks related to this job description as assigned by the satellite lab supervisor, Regional lab field advisor and Asst. lab advisor.o Two years of experience

o Previous Experience on supply chain management is advantageous
