Background:
Under the overall supervision of the Migration Management Programme Coordinator, Migration Management Unit (MMU), and the direct supervision of the Sr. Migration Management Capacity Building Project Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the smooth operations of the Emergency Migration Response Center (EMRC) in Moyale, Oromia Region and for assisting in the implementation of MMU’s capacity building programming under different projects in Oromia Regional State. Specific duties shall include:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Logistics and Direct Assistance to Beneficiaries
Data Management
5. Regularly collect EMRC beneficiaries’ bio data and update EMRC database as per IOM data protection/confidentiality standards and review the data for accuracy.
6. Ensure the organized documentation of incoming/outgoing letters, project/operational reports, data reports, e-mails, EMRC documents, and other relevant documents.
Quality Management and Migrant Rights Promotion
7. Inform beneficiaries of their protection rights;
Awareness Raising and Behavioural Change Communication
8.Share updated information on the services provided by the EMRC and raise the awareness of transiting migrants on the risks of irregular migration through conduct outreach activities and distribute Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials;
Coordination with Partners
9. Support the maintenance of efficient working relationships, regular coordination meetings and communication with local partners mandated with the rescue and assistance to vulnerable migrants
10.Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Experience
Languages
Fluency in English and Amharic is required. Knowledge on Oromiffa, Somali and other local language is advantageous
