Organizational Background:
Nuru International Ethiopia is a US-based international NGO working to end extreme poverty in remote rural communities in Ethiopia. Nuru is currently implemented integrated development projects in Gamo Gofa Zone, SNNPR. Areas of intervention include Agriculture, Rural Livelihoods Diversification, Healthcare and Education. All four thematic areas work through local Grain Marketing Cooperatives. Currently, Nuru Ethiopia employs approximately 80+ staff at its headquarters in Arba Minch, and project offices in Boreda and Kucha Woredas.

The Leadership program is a unique program focused on curriculum, trainings, capacity building, and improving facilitation and leadership skills of both Nuru staff and community members.
S/he will be responsible for overseeing the management of the Leadership Training Program. Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Leadership Program Manager will work to train the Nuru Ethiopia staff and the leaders of Nuru Ethiopia supported cooperatives on relevant leadership-focused topics to build effective leaders throughout the organization and the communities in which Nuru works. Further, s/he will oversee that all training and capacity building done internally at Nuru and promotes Nuru’s values, servant leadership and feedback culture.
In addition to training on leadership concepts, the Leadership program team is Nuru’s team of experts on training, curriculums, and facilitation for adult learning. Nuru’s approach to community development involves a large amount of training and capacity-building. As such, the Program Manager will work with technical teams to create and/or improve a wide range of curriculums on topics ranging from project management to maternal health. S/he will coordinate across different technical areas and upper-level staff to ensure all Nuru Ethiopia trainings are implemented effectively and meet the needs of the participants.

Terms and conditions: The appointment will be for long-term fixed employment based on annual contract extensions depending on performance.
Bachelor’s Degree holder in a relevant field including project management, sociology, social anthropology, education, philosophy, community development, public health or other related fields. Master’s preferred.
