GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of multi-sectoral development, resiliency and humanitarian responses. GOAL Ethiopia is currently working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders and responds to humanitarian crises in Ethiopia by working closely with local communities, local government and other key actors with a strong emphasis on resiliency, preparedness and longer term impacts. ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced Emergency Nutrition Officer to join the organization. You will be responsible to strengthening of the existing MoH emergency Nutrition response capacity and system in a sustainable manner.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced Emergency Nutrition Officer who will be responsible to strengthen the Public Health Emergency (PHEM) Rapid Response Team (RRT) unit in MoH on nutrition emergency response triggering and implementation.
• A University Degree or higher in Nutrition, Public Health, other related field of study is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Nutrition ( CMAM) , Public Health, Nutrition Planning and Management and/or in relevant areas
• Experience in humanitarian situation and emergency nutrition programming
• Demonstrated progressive experience in providing technical expertise to MoH staff in the community based management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) during emergency situation.
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences:
• Experience with emergency nutrition response
• Experience and skills in training staff
• Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects, timetable agreed activities and oversee staff activities.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and PowerPoint, SMART, Epi-Info and/or other relevant statistics packages.
• Experience with mentoring and building the capacity of MoH staff.
• Strong organizational skills and some experience with project planning, timetabling and monitoring budgets would be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, preferably with some experience or exposure to developing and writing proposals.
• Understanding of development and relief issues.
• Appreciation of the aims and objectives of GOAL.
• Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to rural locations and live in sometimes basic conditions.
• Appreciation of and sensitivity to local culture.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to function and manage in situations of uncertain security.

Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary- Birr 19,625.00 /month
Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly salary.
Taxi fare – 300 birr/month
Medical Allowance - Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Pension - as per the government pension scheme (11% from the employer and 7% from the
employee).
