GIZ Ethiopia is looking to recruit a Driver for the Biodiversity and Forest programme as specified below. |

Duties and Responsibilities
The Driver at the Biodiversity and Forest Programme will report to the responsible of logistics and dispatch at the programme. His responsibilities are:
The incumbent is responsible for the
§ Takes careful note of all available information concerning street conditions, effective routes and locations.
Tasks
I. Safe and responsible driving
· Agrees on taking over responsibility for one or two vehicles at the Programme:
· Cares for the vehicles (cleanness)
· Makes reports for any irregularity
· Is ready to leave at any moment (fuel)
II. Routine maintenance of the car
1. Makes small maintenance such as oil change, filter change, etc.
2. Checks when the car has to go to the official service
3. Follows up on spare parts (new ones in, old ones out)
4. Is responsible for project vehicle documents and its care, keeps vehicle logbook on a daily basis and registers each monthly check
5. Calculate the fuel, oil, and lubricant (POL) use on a monthly basis, is responsible for a special petty cash for POL and submits vouchers to accounting on a monthly basis
III. Takes careful note of all available information concerning street conditions
1. Uses all available information (incl. actual radio news on traffic situations) to update knowledge of street conditions, effective routes and locations daily
2. Exchanges this information with other office drivers Responsible driving:
a. Respects the traffic code
b. Applies a correct, non-aggressive style of driving
c. Adapts the driving style to the road conditions
IV. Petty Cash handling
1. Handling project petty cash receipts.
2. Check each documents which spends for project purpose
3. Check each document whether in line with GIZ policy and procedure.
4. Prepare summery for all documents against the replenish amount.
V. Small procurement
1. Handling small purchase like stationer, Fuel and like that.
2. Check each purchase request for before effect payment.
3. Process each small payment according to GIZ policy and procedure.
VI. Other services
· Serves all passengers and clients in a friendly manner
· Runs errands for the project/office,
· Accomplishes the “Trip Record Book” correctly and accurately
· He subordinates to the head of logistic and dispatch and supports this responsible in all logistic and transport tasks
· In case of absence of the responsible for logistics and dispatch, he is always ready to take over responsibilities for the smooth replacement of this responsible and he subordinates on his drivers colleagues, who would have taken over such responsibility
· Does not use the car for his/her own private purposes at any time without prior permission from the Head of Administration or his/her assigned deputy.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
1. If there is no outside driving activity, he stands by in the office, supports other colleagues in case of need, and does other office work as assigned.
2. Report any incident whilst off duty that may affect his driving license entitlement, as well as any newly known health problems that may affect his ability to drive.
3. Assist in and/or carries out other activities and any tasks as assigned.
4. Undertake further job training related to his position and duties, if required
5. Special training programs shall be identified and selected jointly with the Head of Administration
