KROTAJ Tahini Manufactures PLC is a tahini-manufacturing factory, located in Ethiopia, the home to the world’s best sesame for the tahini industry. The combined experience that we have in both the sesame industry and the tahini industry lead us to establish a factory in Ethiopia.
The Financial Manager is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the Company’s operations and will assist on strategic and tactical matters as they relate to financial management and their impact on the business operations.
The objective of the position is to establish and run standard financial procedures and systems that assist the technical work of the company both efficiently and effectively. The selected candidate will be working full time at KROTAJ Tahini Manufactures PLC, and working closely with RENEW.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT: Good oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, initiative and the ability to work as part of a team. Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical skills, IT and numerical abilities are crucial.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Management:
o Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
· Funds Management:
o Formulating strategic and long-term business plans, project financial statements.
o Forecast cash flow positions, related needs, and available funds for investment.
o Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
o Maintain banking relationships and arrange for debt/equity financing.
o Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure.
o Designing financial controls.
· Budgeting:
o Manage the preparation of the company's budget.
o Provide/review financial projections on cash budgets (i.e. monthly, annually)
o Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for the variance.
o Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.
· Financial analysis:
o Providing and interpreting financial information from local and international market perspectives.
o Review Company bottlenecks and recommends changes to improve the overall level of the company throughout.
o Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price goals.
o Assist in the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing.
o Compile key business metrics and report on them to management.
o Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
o Create additional analysis and reports as requested by management.
· Accounting:
o Maintain a systematic filing and documentation of financial records.
o Timely and accurately posting transactions.
o Ensure taxes are timely declared and paid.
o Ensure the books are prepared in conformity with the tax law.
o Ensure appropriate controls are in place per the accounting manual.
o Prepare a periodic report for management purpose.
o Prepare weekly cash position reports.
o Reconcile on monthly bases bank accounts, receivable, payable, inventory, cash on hand and other accounts that may need reconciliation.
o Timely alert and advise management any irregularities and/or non-conformity with the tax law.
o Apply the appropriate software (Peachtree, QuickBooks, etc.) that is fit to the organization finance management system.
o Assure monthly financial statements are generated with quality within the specified deadlines along with been properly analyzed and in line with profitability and liquidity targets, and recommend corrective actions if needed to bring performance on course;
o Assure timely and complete year-end closing in preparation for the annual audit.
QUALIFICATIONS: Based on our experience, we believe candidates with the following qualifications are likely to be most successful:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
o 2-5 years of work experience
o Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills
o Demonstrated ability to write in English
o Experience in food processing factories is beneficial
DUTY STATION: The position is based in Addis Ababa, with some travel to other cities in Ethiopia, as needed.
DURATION: Minimum 3-year commitment; full-time job.
