Shaping a stronger Oxfam for people living in poverty
Country Context
A new Oxfam Country Strategy (OCS) was finalised in 2015 and a Country Operating Model (COM) in 2016. A transition process has been completed to amalgamate all existing Oxfam operations in country under one roof. A new operating model has been introduced for Vision 2020 and will be rolled out and embedded in Ethiopia over the next 3 years. A key component of this is the establishment of an Executing Affiliate (EA) to operationalize the Oxfam programme in Ethiopia, under the oversight of the Oxfam International Country Director OI CD). As the legally registered entity in the country, it employs in-country staff, is the asset holder, primary contract signatory with in-country donors and suppliers, manages finances and provides back office support and IT systems, and represents the Oxfam Confederation in the country. Complementing the work of the Executing Affiliate are Partner Affiliates that provide funding (restricted and unrestricted), thematic expertise and influencing capacity.
Team Purpose
Closely work with Enterprise Development Project Manager, provide overall support to project partners, the livelihoods team, the Global EDP team and other relevant stakeholders of the project.
Job Purpose
The EDP Officer will support the EDP Lead in all aspects of the operation of the EDP Programme. His/Her key areas of responsibility will be monitoring portfolio and pipeline enterprises, collecting KPI data, carrying out RCA and Gendered Market Map Analysis, carrying out the EDP MEL Plan, communications to promote the activities of EDP amongst Oxfam’s peer network and the general public. In addition to this, she /He will be heavily involved in the drafting of outlines, full proposals, and donor reports and maintaining Opal and Crimson.
