JOB Purpose:
Promote, assess and improve quality education to fulfil all children’s right to education based on SCI’s vision, mission, and values. Provide technical support to the implementation of educational activities of SCI country strategy plan to achieve the objectives; be responsible to contribute for the development of project proposal and reference material of different education thematic area including Early Childhood Care, Alternative Basic Education/ ABE/ and Quality Inclusive Education/QIE/; follow up the suitable budget utilization of the program; make certain networking with strategic partners; act as a go-between and establishes working in partnership with government organizations and work with head office education manager.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Development
Provide necessary inputs to the development of project proposal
Promote assess and improve quality of education to fulfil all children’s right to education based on SC Vision, mission and values.
Collect, organize data, provide written report and compiling the report of the program both financial and activity reports;
Coordinate, facilitate the joint project implementation.
Technical Assistance
Assesses capacity gap and provide capacity building trainings and workshops. to partners /school teachers, directors, supervisors, PTUs/ and communities
Coordinate the planning, implementation , monitoring and evaluation of the project progress
Ensure the application and promotion of child right programming in the project activities
keep on alongside each other the existing event and best practice in the field of education via involvement made through research, training manuals and working groups and conferences
Identify capacity gap and provide capacity building trainings and workshops. to partners /school teachers, directors, supervisors, PTUs/ and communities
Maintain and encourage the ongoing relationships with partners concerning to the progress of the project.
Partnership and Networking
Carry out effective M&E system to measure achievement and progress toward program goals and results
Follow the implementation of field projects and responds to pressing issues coming from project intervention area.
Document best practise of the project activities and share with strategic partners.
Follow up review in relation to education;
Perform other related task as requested by immediate line manager;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
First degree in education/Teaching
Recommended a minimum of 4 years education project related experience preferable in pastoralist set up.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skill.
Result oriented with the ability to challenge the existing way of thinking.
Ability to present complex information in concise and compelling manner
Solid experience of developing and managing monitoring and learning systems
Credibility to lobby, influence and represent Save the Children
Training, capacity building, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims , values and principles including rights-based approaches
Very good in written and spoken English
Speaking local language is advantageous
