JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. JSI currently seeks a dynamic and highly experienced Senior Technical Advisor (STA) for a possible position with a USAID-funded HIV Key and Priority Populations Project in Ethiopia. The project will focus on identifying key and priority populations and providing HIV prevention and treatment services and linking with community- and facility-based HIV services across the clinical cascade.
Should JSI be the successful bidder, this will be a full-time position based in Ethiopia. The Senior Technical Advisor will report to the Chief of Party.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to all program activities in HIV prevention, care and treatment that targets key populations;
Provide technical assistance in designing and evaluating high impact interventions, developing and rolling out training curriculum, adapting new WHO guidelines, and leading project research agenda; and
Remain up-to-date on the global KP-focused HIV literature, document and share project best practices, write technical working papers, reports and research abstracts.
Masters of Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related degree from an accredited university/college required;
At least 12 years of increasingly responsible experience in public health programming in developing countries, at least 8 of which should be on HIV/AIDS programs required;
Expert-level knowledge of UNAIDS, WHO, Global Fund, and PEPFAR organizations and their technical recommendations related to KP-centered programming and strategies strongly preferred;
HIV program experience related to strategic planning, policy, partnership/coordination, research, and monitoring and evaluation preferred; and
Supervisory experience, government experience and capacity building experience preferred.
