As a registered charity, founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger operates in 40 countries. The international network of Action Against Hunger is represented in Paris, London, Madrid, Montreal and New York. Teams in the field combat hunger on 4 fronts: nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation.
For our WaSH Programme in Borena base office. We are currently looking for the following professionals:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Objectives 1: Participate in identifying the beneficiary communities of the project
Ø Participate in organizing, coordination , planning and conducting of WASH surveys and assessments
Ø Participate in planning social mobilization and hygiene promotion activities.
Objective 2 implement the activities of the hygiene promotion project:
Ø Ensure implementation of the activities defined by the WASH PM
Ø Schedule activities according to the project’s development
Ø Assess and update project needs (financial, logistics)
Ø Identify and anticipate problems or constraints
Ø Follow the project’s advancement by regular visits
Ø Propose solutions or improvements for better performance of the project
Ø Supervise the distribution of hygiene kits and Point of Use Water Treatment Chemicals
Ø Coordinate and Post distribution Monitoring of NFI
Ø Identify, plan and ensure the distribution of NFIs’ for the intended emergency affected beneficiaries
Ø Organize and ensure the documentation of every hygiene promotion activities, NFI distributions, assessments and capacity building activities
Ø Participate in dissemination of appropriate hygiene educational materials
Ø Write weekly activity reports and transmit them to the WASH PM Contribute to development of IEC materials based on local situation and ensure proper use of it.
Objective 3: Participate in the implication of beneficiary communities in the project
Ø Coordinate hygiene activities and sensitize local partners in the field
Ø Identify the community’s technical training needs
Ø Organize information meetings with community members to develop their knowledge in terms of water quality and hygienic practices
Objective 4: Manage the project team:
Ø Participate in the technical recruitment of the project team
Ø Elaborate the content of the required training and organize it
Ø Train the team of health educators and make sure they transmit messages clearly to the community
Organize the Hygiene Promoter’s work: optimize the distribution of tasks
Educational / Professional Background - Degree in Public health, Environmental health, education or relevant field and training experience
Required Competence & Skills: Ability to analyze and synthesize – Capacity to manage team – Good organizational skills – Diplomacy – Relational qualities – Flexibility – Dynamism – Creativity – Knowledge of public health (in particular hydrous diseases) – Knowledge of epidemic diseases like AWD.
