GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of multi-sectoral development, resiliency and humanitarian responses. GOAL Ethiopia is currently working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders and responds to humanitarian crises in Ethiopia by working closely with local communities, local government and other key actors with a strong emphasis on resiliency, preparedness and longer term impacts. GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID, OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid and UNOCHA.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, Legal Officer to join the head office team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time of growth and change and you’ll be instrumental in providing support in the delivery of the Program to the organisation and its employees.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an Officer experienced with major components of activities with legal issues and represent the organization in courts with major components. You'll review and provide advice, from the legal perspective, on documents (contracts, agreements etc.) prepared and issued by GOAL.
· First degree in Law from recognized University with a minimum of a minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in related field; experience in legal courts is an advantage.
· Proactive in providing legal advices on the possible outcome of actions, decisions etc.
· High level of integrity, discipline and professionalism; ability to maintain confidentiality of information and processes
· Very good in both verbal and written English.
· Ability to speak, listen and very good in written Oromiffa.
· Very good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Highly organized, motivated, capable to learn and develop,
· Able to work independently.
· Willing to travel occasionally to the field
· High commitment to confidentiality
· Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate
· Sensitive to cross cutting issues like gender, accountably, child protection and HIV/AIDS.
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences: (list of qualities that are considered desirable for the specific post):

Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary:
Birr 11,563.00 per month
Pension - (11% from employer and 7% from employee).
Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary and additional 300 birr taxi fare.
Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum
