Job Purpose:
The purpose of the position is to ensure that beneficiary behavior change in hygiene and sanitation is brought about through the effective implementation of project plans. The job holder is responsible for ensuring high quality behaviour change communication programming, ensuring the integration of hygiene and sanitation BCC across other programmatic sectors and in contributing to disaster risk reduction in rural communities, particularly related to the prevention of increase in malnutrition. The job holder will ensure effective participation in, and ownership of, the project by communities and stakeholders through liaison, coordination and communication among Concern’s programme staff, communities/beneficiaries and other stakeholders for sustainable programme results and outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordination and networking
· To liaise with Government and other relevant actors as requested by the line manager
· Establish good working relationship with Concern staffs, government bodies and other stakeholders
· Participate in WASH cluster meeting as required
· Technical Support and Facilitation
· Ensure high quality behaviour change communication programming relating to hygiene
· Develop high quality BCC materials and methodologies
· Ensure that hygiene promotion and awareness activities are carried out by the field staff according to project plans and including a variety of communication channels and tools, such as hygiene promotion campaigns, focus group discussions, key informant interview,
· Give technical guidance and capacity build the WASH outreach workers in hygiene promotion
· Ensure that all sections of the project beneficiary/target community participate in the hygiene promotion activities,
· Contribute with the development and/or introduction of new approaches methods and practices in hygiene promotion
· Coordinate and collaborate with the WASH outreach workers and other project staff at field level, ensuring that the project delivers an integrated water, hygiene and sanitation response
· Develop IEC materials ensuring that it is culturally appropriate and acceptable
· Planning, Reporting and Accountability
· Collect reports and documents as well as share all data related to the progress in the project implementation.
· Ensure that programme participants and stakeholders have clear information about the programme activities as appropriate and relevant to them.
· At all times adhere to policies and guidelines of Concern.
· Document good practices and success stories for learning and sharing
