Job Summary
The HR Assistant Manager assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Assistant Manager carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, recruitment and selection, employee relations, training and development, compensation & benefits, organization development, and executive administration.
The HR Assistant Manager contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The HR Assistant Manager helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs through HR staff; reports to the HR manager, and assists company managers with HR issues at the project site.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASK
v Develop and execute recruiting plan for the project site.
v Effectively and efficiently fill the vacant positions on time.
v Prepares paperwork required for the new hires and develop personnel file.
v Develop job descriptions.
v Employee orientation, development, training and record keeping.
v Maintains employee- related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department.
v Prepares periodic reports to the head office as necessary or requested.
v Participate in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concern are brought forth.
v Advises managers or supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsels managers on employment issues.
v Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company HR Policy and governmental laws and regulations.
v Compensation and benefit administration and record keeping.
v Assist employees in any benefit claim issues or concerns.
v Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system.
v Assisting with the day- to- day efficient operation of the HR functions.
v Provide HR services to the department or employee in need.
v A bachelor’s degree in HR Management/Business Administration or any related fields and above;
v Extensive experience in HR activities as HR Assistant or HR Officer;
v Excellent communication skills in both written & oral in English and Amharic;
v Excellent computer skills;
v General knowledge of employment laws & practices;
v Ability to work with various departments and stress & under pressure work tolerance;
v Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
v Ability to manage filing systems quickly and systematically;
