The position will support the Finance and Systems manager on the effectiveness of all Grant accounting and operations of Digital opportunity Trust country office to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate grant file, a comprehensive set of internal controls and budget management to mitigate risk, ensure grant compliance with accounting and procurement policies/procedures. This position’s responsibility will also include other related functions and will report directly to the Finance and Systems Manager.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant & Project Account Administration:
Grant & Project Reporting:
· Participate in proposal budget development in line with donor requirements and guidelines. Facilitate preparation, review and submission of budgets for ongoing projects.
· Monitoring of projects budgets to ensure proper charging of projects expenses and spending as per approved budget. This include region based projects too.
· Ensure monthly timesheets are filled and approved for program and support staff and payroll reconciliation is done in a timely manner for projects where program support costs are charged as direct costs.

Education
Desired Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting, partly qualified ACCA/ financial management qualification or with detailed knowledge of project Accounting/contracts. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, and at least four years of experience in project accounting.
