The sponsorship coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and lead the sponsorship unit’s overall activities and team; follow up adherence to AAE’s sponsorship policies and procedures; and produce periodic reports to advice AAE management on related issues. She/he will participate in the identification and appraisal process of community development programme areas and in the development and implementation of AAE’s overall fundraising, resource mobilization and sponsorship management strategy. The successful candidate also has to ensure that DA level sponsorship related works are undertaken to the required standard; and that there is smooth correspondences with supporters, Alliance Affiliates, Regional office other country Programmes. Developing strategies and negotiating on allocation of sponsors to ensure sponsorship fund sustainability and growth will also be the responsibility of coordinator. The successful candidate should be able to work across given team boundaries, actively engage in other matrix structures, facilitate documentation and learning and experience sharing within the unit as well as with AA International sponsorship team. Also, she/he is expected to exhibit commitment and personal and professional sensitivity to gender issues and ensure mainstreaming of such in all sponsorship and related activities.
You should have BA in Literature/English language, communication or related discipline with minimum of 8 years relevant experience. Experience on sponsorship management, sponsors communication, journalism, documentation and report writing; sufficient understanding of poverty and development related work; good photographing and communication and report writing skills are essential; having an experience in printing media and desk top publishing is also an advantage. Personal qualities embedded in values and principles integrity, empathy and internal desire to make a difference in the lives of poor and marginalized people are desired.
